Troubleshoot links, access, and unavailable items
Start with the exact status shown on the preview or in the Android app. Different messages have different causes; changing the access method will not make a missing catalog archive available.
The item link opens a webpage
Check that NutCracker is installed and up to date, then use Open in NutCracker on the preview page. If Android still keeps the link in a browser, check the app’s supported-link settings or search for the item by name inside the app.
When installing for the first time, return to the original preview after installation. A Google Play visit alone does not select the item in the app.
The item says Preview only or Apply is unavailable
Preview only means an archive is not currently available for that preparation entry. You can still view and share the preview.
In the app, Apply may also be unavailable because access is not ready, another operation is active, or a remote resource needs a connection. Follow the displayed reason. An unavailable or retired webpage may mean that the item is no longer in the current catalog.
Android blocks the folder picker
Confirm that the target package and selected folder match. On Android 10 and earlier, Direct storage may be available. On Android 11 and later, the advanced Wireless ADB route can be used when Folder access is unavailable.
For Wireless ADB, keep Wi-Fi and Wireless debugging enabled, and leave the pairing dialog open while entering the current code through the NutCracker notification. If the code expires, generate a fresh one and pair again. On Android 13 and later, notification permission is needed for that input.
An operation was interrupted
Reconnect the access method used by the interrupted operation. If recovery is pending, allow it to complete. Check the activity log and install history for the current result before starting another operation.
When reporting a problem, include your Android version, NutCracker version, selected access method, and the exact status text. Do not include pairing codes, tokens, credentials, or private files in a public issue.
